Learning to embrace the sovereignty of God!

LEARNING TO EMBRACE THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD!

Because a believer is assured that God is sovereign (i,e., that God rules the world and that God will have the ‘final word’, in spite of the presence of rampant evil), such a believer has a sense of joy in all that he does and in all that he encounters in human relationships.

Of course, a God-centered person, at times, weeps with those who weep, as well as rejoices with those who rejoice. A God-centered person has a serious view of life. He knows that, although God has won the victory over evil (as a result of the cross and resurrection), the ‘evil one’ (devil) is still ‘on the loose’ in this world.

He is not naively optimistic – that is, he does not ignore the fact that there are countless persons (Christians and non-Christians) who are still ‘hurting’ and ‘suffering’, and who need a helping hand and a listening ear and a compassionate heart and a fervent prayer. But the man of ‘faith’ knows, that ‘though the wrong seems often so very strong, God is the Ruler yet!’ Right will eventually prevail, and wrong will eventually and ultimately be destroyed!

Satan is a ‘defeated foe’, and his execution date has been set, His ultimate destiny is the ‘lake of fire’! The believer knows that whatever happens to him in this earthly life, he is assured that heaven will be his eternal home – if he endures until the end. “Be thou faithful until death, and I will give thee a crown of life!”
